May you find this much awe in the world around you. The sights, sounds, smells, and sensations we experience that are a part of nature can remind us of all the gifts Mother Earth grants us each day. Spending time connecting with nature nourishes the soul and attunes you to earth’s natural rhythms, reminding us that we are never truly alone. Remember, you are as much a part of nature as are the fronds of a fern or water in a stream.
Green to me is not just a paint color; it is a presence that pulses with life. It is in the towering trees, unfurling ferns, and carpets of moss where mushrooms and wildflowers bloom. Green holds the secrets of the forest. To me, being in the forest feels like stepping into a world where time slows down. The ground holds memories from a time long before I existed, inviting me to slow down and reconnect with my truest self. The trees do not care about my flaws or mistakes; they only ask that I respect the space we share. In the forest, I am simply another living being, part of the intricate web of life. Here, I do not have to pretend or perform; I can just be… among the green.
The 30 x 30” original painting is ready-to-hang and protected with a layer of varnish, complete with the artist’s signature and hanging wire already installed. The creation process consisted of starting with a layer of acrylic applied with sponges, followed by a mixture of acrylic paints and hard molding paste to create abstract textures using a palette knife. I finished with brushwork to incorporate the more realistic details of some of my favorite things I often find in the forest.
