Midnight Rain

Inspired by the lyrics and melody of Taylor Swift’s Midnight Rain, I listened to this song non stop while creating my very own version of the song on canvas. Have you ever painted a song?

“My town was a wasteland: Full of cages, full of fences, pageant queens and big pretenders. But for some it was paradise. My boy was a montage: a slow motion, love potion, jumping off things in the ocean. I broke his heart because he was nice. He was sunshine, I was midnight rain. He wanted it comfortable, I wanted that pain. He wanted a bride, I was making my own name, chasing that fame. He stayed the same. All of me changed like midnight.” -Taylor Swift

Midnight Rain

The 24 x 30” original painting is ready-to-hang and protected with a layer of varnish. The creation process consisted of starting with a layer of charcoal and acrylic inks, followed by acrylic paints to map out the composition and values. I finished with oil paints to bring out the juiciness of the colors and give the painting a sense of depth. It is the perfect painting to add some color to your living space or give as a thoughtful gift to a deserving Swiftie!
